Emergency Relief Goods

When MOFA receives a request for assistance from the government of a disaster-affected country or international organization and finds it appropriate to provide emergency relief goods, MOFA communicates the request to JICA. In accordance with the Japan International Cooperation Agency Law, JICA decides to provide emergency relief goods and carries out necessary procedures.

In order to provide prompt assistance for the affected areas, eight relief items in high demand, including tents, blankets and water purifiers, are stockpiled in JICA-managed warehouses in four locations: Singapore, Frankfurt, Miami and Johannesburg.
