1. The Visit of Their Majesties the Emperor and the Empress to Canada

Prime Minister Aso expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality of the Canadian side in receiving Their Majesties during Their visit to Canada. Prime Minister Harper mentioned how he felt honored by Their Majesties' visit to Canada, and how he had felt it to be a truly wonderful occasion to host Their Majesties at his summer villa for two nights, located in the nature-rich province of Quebec. Both leaders agreed that the visit will further strengthen Japan-Canada bilateral relations.

2. Climate Change

Both leaders shared the view that climate change is a significant challenge for all of us and that it is important that emerging economies too play a responsible role. The two leaders agreed to closely work together towards a successful COP 15.
