APEC HRD Youth Initiative -Japan-

Japan-APEC Partnership for Education and Training (JAPET)

The aim of the Japan-APEC Partnership for Education and Training (JAPET) program is to provide employment information to students who come from the APEC region and want to get 2-3 years of OJT (on-the-job-training) in Japanese firms.

Major beneficiaries of the JAPET program are foreign students studying at Japanese colleges, universities, or other post-high school educational institutions who want 2-3 years of work experience in Japan after graduation.

The program started in 1993, and 80 students have been employed so far.

An employment guidebook listing participating companies is published every year by the Center for Domestic and Foreign Students, and foreign students can apply for the program either through the Center or directly to each participating company.
