In order for the young people around the world who will be responsible for steering the global future to gain a stronger sense of affinity with Japan, it is extremely important that they engage in active dialogue with Japanese youth and have the hands-on experience of living in Japan. Young people with such experience can become the catalysts that promote relationships of friendship and goodwill between Japan and other countries into the future.
Considering the above-mentioned perspectives, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan supports youth exchange in a variety of forms.
