Tokyo's Bid for Hosting 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games
- Tokyo has placed a bid to host the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
- The two other candidate cities are Istanbul and Madrid. The final decision will take place on September 7, 2013, at the IOC Session in Buenos Aires.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan is actively backing Tokyo's effort to host the Olympic Games through initiatives occurring both inside and outside Japan.
