On Wednesday, December 27, Mr. Taro Kano, Minister for Foreign Affairs, who is visiting Muscat, Oman, held a meeting and working lunch with H.E. Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of Sultanate of Oman. The overview of the meeting is as follows.

1. In the beginning, Minister Yousuf bin Alawi welcomed Minister Kono’s visit to Oman, and Minister Kono mentioned that he would like to strengthen the bilateral relationship in various fields, adding that he especially would like to further deepen the relation in the field of economy. Minister Yousuf bin Alawi replied that he would like to further enhance the existing solid bilateral relationship.

2. In addition, the two ministers exchanged views on the situation in East Asia including North Korea, and the situation in the Middle East including the Yemen situation, the Qatar issue, and the Jerusalem issue.
