1. Background

Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) are often invited to submit their views on specific issues in order to advance work inter-sessionally.
At the Ad Hoc Working Group of the Paris Agreement and the Subsidiary Bodies of the UNFCCC held in Bonn, Germany in May 2017, a number of submissions were called for on the agenda relating to the rulebook of the Paris Agreement. These submissions by Parties will be an important basis for the discussions at the Climate Change Conference including COP23 in November 2017.
