Send E-Mail

You are about to send an e-mail inquiry to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry receives a large number of e-mail inquiries every day. These messages are forwarded by the webmaster to the section(s) in charge of the contents of each inquiry. Because of this, it is not always possible to provide you with the information you requested as promptly as we would like. Please allow one to three weeks until you receive a reply. If you do not hear from us after three weeks, please contact the webmaster about the status of your inquiry.

IF YOU REQUIRE IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE, PLEASE CONTACT THE MINISTRY BY TELEPHONE ONLY.

Before proceeding, please make sure you agree to the following:

  1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will NOT respond to all inquiries made by e-mail.
  2. For visa-related inquiries, please contact the Embassy or Consulate General closest to you instead of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We will NOT answer visa-related inquiries via e-mail.
  3. For emergencies, please call the Ministry by TELEPHONE (24 hours), instead of e-mail.
