- From February 1 to February 3, Ms. Toshiko Abe, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will be visiting Munich, Germany to attend the 49th Munich Security Conference.
- At this Conference, issues such as Euro-Atlantic security, the rising powers and global governance, economic issues (including the euro crisis), energy and natural resources, and the situation in the Middle East and Africa are to be discussed. Foreign and defense ministers as well as other officials from various countries including NATO members, such as Germany (the hosting countries), the United States, the United Kingdom and France, are expected to attend the Conference.
- During her stay, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Abe is scheduled to exchange views with officials from various countries.
