- As it is almost two years since the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Ota-ku and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) will hold the "FY2012 International Workshop on Acceptance of Foreign Nationals and Their Integration into Japan: Large-scale Disasters and Foreign Nationals in Japan" on February 6, 2013 at Ota-ku Hall "Aprico" in Ota-ku, Tokyo.
- Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Shunichi Suzuki is scheduled to attend to make opening remarks at the workshop. Experts and practitioners from Japan and overseas including foreign nationals who directly experienced the Great East Japan Earthquake will discuss what support should be provided for foreign nationals in Japan based on the lessons from the Great East Japan Earthquake.
