  1. Mr. Joe Nakano, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Fiji and the Cook Islands from Tuesday, August 28 to Monday, September 3, to attend the Post-Forum Dialogue Partners' Meeting of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF).

  2. While in Fiji, Vice-Minister Nakano will hold meetings with the high-level Fiji government officials to discuss bilateral and other issues.

  3. In the Cook Islands, Vice-Minister Nakano is scheduled to attend to be Post-Forum Dialogue Partners' Meeting of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) which is held on Friday, August 31. In addition to follow-up on the outcomes of the PALM 6 which Japan hosted in May in Okinawa, Mr. Nakano will also explain our country's view regarding such agendas such as sustainable development, climate change problems and maritime issues. Pacific Islands Countries are paying attention to these issues.

  4. On Saturday, September 1, Vice-Minister Nakano is scheduled to attend the handing-over ceremony of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects, which are the first cooperation projects to be implemented in to the Cook Islands for the first time by the government of Japan.
