- From Tuesday, July 10, to Friday, July 13, Mr. Koichiro Gemba, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan will visit Phnom Penh, Cambodia to attend ASEAN-related foreign ministers’ meetings (the Japan-ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ meeting, the East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers’ meeting, the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting and a Friends of the Lower Mekong Initiative (LMI) Ministerial Meeting).
In these events it is expected to discuss such issues as regional cooperation including cooperation among ASEAN countries and regional and international issues. Foreign Minister Gemba will proactively express Japan's views and confirm our cooperation with the participating countries. - After attending the above-mentioned ASEAN-related foreign ministers’ meetings, Minister Gemba will visit Ha Noi, Viet Nam from the evening of Friday, July 13, to Sunday, July 15. During this visit he is scheduled to co-chair the Japan-Viet Nam Cooperation Committee and hold a bilateral foreign ministers’ meeting with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Mr. Pham Binh Minh. Minister Gemba is also scheduled to make courtesy calls on Vietnamese leaders , etc.
