His Excellency Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the New Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) established in June and Mrs. Naly Sisoulith, will visit Japan from Monday, August 1 to Thursday, August 4 as guests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During his stay in Japan, Deputy Prime Minister Thongloun is scheduled to meet with Mr. Takeaki MATSUMOTO, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan and will exchange their views on bilateral relationship including political and economic aspects as well as on regional and international cooperation from the perspective of strengthening the comprehensive partnership. Deputy Prime Minister Thongloun will also hold meetings with other government officials, parliamentary members and business executives. Deputy Prime Minister Thongloun will visit Natori City in Miyagi Prefecture in the affected area, to show solidarity between Japan and the Lao PDR in efforts toward reconstruction after the Great East Japan Earthquake.
