Visit to Japan of the First Group of Chinese High School Students for the 2010 School Year on the “Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) Programme” (Japan-China 21st Century Exchange Program)

  1. The first group of 300 Chinese high school students will visit Japan from May 18 (Tue) to 26 (Wed) as part of the “Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) Programme.” The group will participate in school exchanges in Chiba, Saitama, and Osaka Prefectures. The students will also participate in classes and club activities and experience home stays in Hokkaido Prefecture, Iwate Prefecture, Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture, Aichi Prefecture, Gifu Prefecture, Ishikawa Prefecture, Nara Prefecture, Wakayama Prefecture, and Nagasaki Prefecture to deepen exchange with Japanese high school students and Japanese people in general. They will also visit environmental, social and cultural facilities.

  2. During the four year period from 2008 to 2011, approximately 4,000 youths will participate in exchange between Japan and China per year. This group is the first group to visit Japan this school year. Through the exchange program, it is expected that young people from Japan and China will deepen mutual understanding and build a strong foundation between the two countries.

  3. The group consists of 300 high school students selected from Beijing City, Jilin Province, Jiangsu Province, Shanxi Province, Jiangxi Province, and the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (one city, four provinces, and one autonomous region).
