Visit to the Republic of Peru and the Republic of Chile by Mr. Shuji Kira, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs

- Mr. Shuji Kira, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit the Republic of Peru and the Republic of Chile from Monday, March 8 to Sunday, March 14.
- While in Peru, Vice-Minister Kira will hold meetings with high-level government figures to discuss the strengthening of the bilateral relations, including the acceleration of the negotiations for an Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Japan and Peru.
- In Chile, Vice-Minister Kira is scheduled to attend the inauguration ceremony of Dr. Sebastian Piñera, President-elect of the Republic of Chile, to be held on Thursday, March 11, as Ambassador of Japan on Special Mission. Vice-Minister Kira is also scheduled to carry out exchanges of opinions with high-level figures in of the Government of Chile concerning the damage situation caused by the major earthquake that hit the country on February 27 and Japanese assistance in this context.
