Visit to Japan by Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark

- Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark, will pay a working visit to Japan from March 7 (Sun) to 10 (Wed).
- During his visit, Prime Minister Rasmussen is scheduled to hold an exchange of views with Mr. Yukio Hatoyama, Prime Minister of Japan, regarding Japan-Denmark relations and international issues such as climate change.
- Prime Minister Rasmussen is scheduled to be accompanied by representatives from the business world. It is expected that, through the summit meeting and business exchange, the friendly relationship between Japan and Denmark will be further deepened.

Prime Minister Hatoyama visited Denmark for the Assembly of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in October 2009 and the 15th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 15) in December 2009, and held summit meetings with Prime Minister Rasmussen on both occasions.(Reference 2)
This is Prime Minister Rasmussen’s first visit to Japan. It has been three years and three months since then-Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen (current Secretary General of NATO) visited Japan in November 2006.
