Visit to Japan of His Excellency Mr. Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, President of the United Mexican States and Mrs. Margarita Zavala Gómez del Campo

His Excellency Mr. Felipe Calderón Hinojosa, President of the United Mexican States, and Mrs. Margarita Zavala Gómez del Campo, will pay an Official Working Visit to Japan from 31 January to 2 February, 2010.

During their stay in Japan, the President and Mrs. Zavala will make a State Call on Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan, and Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress will host a Court Luncheon in honor of the President and Mrs. Zavala.

Mr. Yukio Hatoyama, Prime Minister of Japan will hold a meeting with the President.

Japan and Mexico designate the years of 2009 and 2010 as the 400th anniversary of exchange of both nation. The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the President, also as the honorary president of the 400th anniversary, and Mrs. Zavala, which will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and the United Mexican States.

* The honorary president of the 400th anniversary of Japanese side is His Highness Crown Prince.
