Visit to Japan by Chinese Education Delegation

- As the first group from the People’s Republic of China to visit Japan
under “the Teachers Exchanges Initiative for Creating the Future”, a 28-member
delegation of Chinese educators will visit Japan from April 15 (Wed) to
22 (Wed).
- The Initiative, proposed by Mr. Hirofumi Nakasone, Minister for Foreign
Affairs, at the Japan-China foreign ministerial meeting held during his
visit to China in February 2009, and agreed to by the Chinese side, will
see the exchange of 1,500 teachers over a period of three years starting
in 2009.
- The delegation will attend a welcome reception on the evening of April 15 arranged by the Japan-China Friendship Center, who will host the delegation’s Japan visit. On April 16 (Thurs), the delegation is scheduled to make a courtesy call on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and visit an elementary school and a junior high school in Suginami city as well as visit Kyoto, Osaka, and other places in Japan.
