Visit to Japan by Mr. William Lacy Swing, Director-General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM)

- Mr. William Lacy Swing, Director-General of the International Organization
for Migration (IOM), will visit Japan from February 25 (Wed) to March 1
(Sun).
- During his visit, Mr. Swing will participate in the “International
Symposium on Acceptance of Foreign Nationals and Their Integration in Japan,”
an international symposium which will be held in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture
and co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Aichi Prefectural
Government, and the IOM. He will also have meetings with Japanese
government officials.
- In cooperation with the IOM, Japan has been making efforts for international cooperation on “migration” across the world. It is expected that Mr. Swing’s visit will further strengthen the cooperative relationship between Japan and the IOM.
