Visit to Japan by Mr. Ivars Godmanis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia

- Mr. Ivars Godmanis, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, will pay
an official working visit to Japan from January 21 (Wed) to 25 (Sun).
- During his stay in Japan, the Prime Minister will be received in audience
by His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. He also will have talks with
Mr. Taro Aso, Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Hirofumi Nakasone, Minister for
Foreign Affairs, other ministers, and representatives of business circles.
In addition, Mr. Godmanis will deliver a speech at the Foreign Correspondents’
Club of Japan.
- Japan will dispatch an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Latvia soon. It is expected that Prime Minister Godmanis’s visit will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and the Republic of Latvia.
