Dispatch of Ambassador on Special Mission of Japan to Attend the State Funeral of Mr. Levy Mwanawasa, President of the Republic of Zambia

On August 29 (Fri), the Government of Japan decided to dispatch Mr. Tetsuro Yano, Member of the House of Councillors (Vice President of the Japan-African Union (AU) Parliamentary Friendship League) as Ambassador on Special Mission to attend the State Funeral of Mr. Levy Mwanawasa, President of the Republic of Zambia who passed away in Paris on August 19 (Tue). Ambassador Yano will convey condolences to the officials of the Government of Zambia and the bereaved family.
Ambassador Yano will leave Japan on September 1 (Mon) and will attend the State Funeral to be held on September 3 (Wed) in Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia.
