Mr. Hitoshi Kimura, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Visit the Republic of Colombia

- Mr. Hitoshi Kimura, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit
the Republic of Colombia from May 21 (Wed) to 23 (Fri).
- This year marks the 100th year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Colombia since the Japan-Colombia Treaty of Amity, Commerce and Navigation was signed in 1908. Mr. Kimura will attend the centenary commemorative ceremony and a banquet to be hosted by Mr. Fernando Araújo, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, in Bogota on May 22 (Thu). Mr. Kimura will also pay a courtesy call on Dr. Alvaro Uribe Velez, President of Colombia, and meet with Mr. Araújo, in order to exchange views on wide-ranging topics including bilateral relations.
