The First Round of the Negotiations on the Japan-Uzbekistan Bilateral Investment Agreement

- The first round of the negotiations on the Japan-Uzbekistan Bilateral
Investment Agreement will take place in Tokyo on February 6 (Wed) and 7
(Thu).
- The negotiations will be attended on the Japanese side by Mr. Hideki
Uyama, Director of Central Asia and Caucasus Division, and other officials
concerned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy,
Trade and Industry; and on the Uzbek side by Mr. Odil Djuraev, Deputy Minister
of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade, and other relevant
officials of the Government of Uzbekistan.
- The participants will discuss the substance of the Agreement, aiming at reaching earliest possible agreement of the negotiations.
