Attendance at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting and Official Visit to Colombia by Mr. Hirofumi Nakasone, Minister for Foreign Affairs

- Mr. Hirofumi Nakasone, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Peru
from November 18 (Tue) to attend the 20th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation
(APEC) Ministerial Meeting, which will be held on 19 (Wed) and 20 (Thu).
After the meeting, Mr. Nakasone will also pay an official visit to
Colombia from 20 (Thu) to 21 (Fri), since this year marks the 100th anniversary
of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Colombia.
- At the APEC Ministerial Meeting, Mr. Nakasone will exchange views with
participating ministers on such issues as global economic issues, World
Trade Organization (WTO) Doha Round negotiations, the APEC regional economic
integration agenda, corporate social responsibility, human security, and
APEC structural reform. On this occasion, Mr. Nakasone will also exchange
views with some of the participating ministers on bilateral relations and
other issues.
- In Colombia, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Japan-Colombia diplomatic relations, Mr. Nakasone will meet with President H.E. Dr. Alvaro URIBE VELEZ and other key figures of the Colombian government with a view to enhancing bilateral relations for new 100 years to come.
