The First Round of the Negotiation on the Japan-Lao Bilateral Investment Agreement

The first round of the negotiation on the Japan-Lao Bilateral Investment Agreement will take place in Vientiane, the Lao People's Democratic Republic on March 13 (Tue) and 14 (Wed).
The negotiation will be attended on the Japanese side by Mr. Hideo Tarumi, Director, First Southeast Asia Division, and other officials concerned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and on the Lao side by Mr. Houmpheng Souralay, Director General, Department for Promotion and Management of Domestic and Foreign Investment, Committee for Planning and Investment, and other relevant officials of the Government of the Lao PDR.
The participants will discuss the substance of the Agreement, in aiming at achieving the agreement of the negotiations as soon as possible.
