Foreign Minister Koumura to Host Reception to Support International Exchanges of Prefectures in Japan

1. Mr. Masahiko Koumura, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will host a reception to support the international exchanges of prefectures at Iikura House, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from 17:00 to 18:30 of November 14 (Wed).
    
2. The reception will be attended by the Diplomatic Corps in Tokyo of countries that have international affiliations of local governments in Japan and the Governors of prefectures in Japan.  The attendants will exchange views on exchange activities based on international affiliations of local governments and promotion of international exchanges at local level.
    
3. Local governments that wish to demonstrate their attractions to the Diplomatic Corps will be allowed to show regional specialties in the exhibition space to be provided at the reception venue.
    
4. This reception is part of the wide-ranging cooperative efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to encourage various international activities by local governments.
