The Second Meeting of the Japan-Qatar Joint Economic Committee

- On November 2 (Fri), the Second Meeting of the Japan-Qatar Joint Economic
Committee will be held in MITA KAIGISHO.
- The meeting will be attended on the Japanese side by Japanese delegation
consisting of Mr. Masahiko Koumura, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Mr.
Akira Amari, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, accompanied by Mr.
Norihiro Okuda, Director-General of the Middle Eastern and African Bureau,
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Shinsuke Sugiyama, Deputy Director-General
of the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
Mr. Harufumi Mochizuki, Director-General, Agency for Natural Resources and
Energy, and Mr. Hiroyuki Ishige, Director-General, Trade Policy Bureau,
Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; and on the Qatar side by Qatar
delegation consisting of H.E. Mr. Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Deputy
Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry, H.E. Mr. Reyad bin Ali Ahmed
Al-Ansari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Japan, and Mr. Abdullah Hussein
Salatt, Senior Advisor to Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry.
- In the second meeting, both parties will exchange views on and discuss wide-ranging bilateral economic issues pertaining to energy, improvement of the business environment, and investment which were also discussed in the first meeting held last year and the working groups’ meetings held twice after the first meeting.
