Visit to Japan of Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) Teachers from Indonesia

  1. A party of teachers from Indonesian Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) will visit Japan from January 14 (Sun) to 27 (Sat) as guests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
  2. The Party will visit schools in Tokyo and the Kansai area, exchange views with specialists and college students, and visit institutions related to disaster reduction.
  3. This invitation to Pesantren teachers, who are local opinion leaders in many areas of Indonesia, is aimed at enhancing educational exchanges and mutual understanding between Japan and Indonesia, and is also for the purpose of contributing not only to raising the quality of education in the Islamic boarding schools, which constitute an important part in the educational system in Indonesia, but also to encouraging Islamic moderates.
