Visit to Japan by H.E. Mr. Festus Gontebanye Mogae, President of the Republic of Botswana

- H.E. Mr. Festus Gontebanye Mogae, President of the Republic of Botswana, accompanied by a suite, will visit Japan from June 6 (Tue) to 9 (Fri).
- President Mogae will attend (*)"Botswana Week," an event to publicize Botswana in Japan in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the independence of Botswana and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Botswana. He will have a summit meeting with Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, Prime Minister of Japan.
- It is expected that the forthcoming visit to Japan by President Mogae will further strengthen friendly relations between Japan and Botswana.
(*) "Botswana Week"
"Botswana Week" comprises a series of events to be held from June 2 (Fri) to 9 (Fri) under the auspices of the Botswanan Embassy in Japan with a view to making Botswana better known in Japan and strengthening friendship and ties between the peoples of Japan and Botswana in commemoration of the 40th anniversaries of the independence of Botswana and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
