Dr. Kiyohiko Toyama, Vice-Minister (Parliamentary) for Foreign Affairs, to Attend the Meeting of APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade

  1. Dr. Kiyohiko Toyama, Vice-Minister (Parliamentary) for Foreign Affairs, will visit Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from May 31 (Wed) to June 3 (Sat) to attend the Meeting of APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade.
  2. The Meeting is hosted by Vietnam and will be attended by the ministers of APEC countries and regions responsible for trade and also by Director-General Pascal Lamy, from the Secretariat of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
  3. The Meeting of APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade to be held in Ho Chi Minh City, is an important meeting to decide the modality of the APEC Ministerial Meeting and Leaders Meeting to take place in Hanoi in November this year, and the discussions will include APEC's support for the Doha Development Agenda negotiations, development of FTAs/RTAs within the region, and the Action Plan to implement the Busan Roadmap.
