Visit to Japan by H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan

  1. His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Mrs. Aliyeva will visit Japan from March 7 (Tue) to 10 (Fri) at the invitation of the Government of Japan.
  2. During his stay in Japan, Mr. Aliyev will be received by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress and have talks with Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, Prime Minister, and Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs.
  3. This will be the first visit by a President of the Republic of Azerbaijan since 1998 when Mr. Heydar Aliyev, the then President, visited Japan. It is hoped that the forthcoming visit to Japan by Mr. Aliyev will further deepen the friendly relations between Japan and Azerbaijan.
