Visit to Japan by The Right Honorable Sir Rabbie Namaliu, Acting Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) (Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea), and Mrs. Namaliu

- The Right Honorable Sir Rabbie Namaliu, Acting Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) (Minister for Foreign Affairs and Immigration of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea), will visit Japan from February 11 (Sat) to 16 (Thu) as Guest of the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
- During his stay in Japan, Sir Rabbie will meet with Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Sadako Ogata, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, to exchange views on the preparations for the Fourth Japan-PIF Summit Meeting (PALM 2006) to be held on May 26 (Fri) and 27 (Sat), 2006, in Okinawa; cooperative relations between Japan and the Pacific island region; and bilateral relations between Japan and Papua New Guinea.
- The Government of Japan has invited the PIF Chair every year to promote regional dialogue and cooperation in the Pacific and strengthen partnership with the PIF.
