Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Visit Singapore and Attend ASEAN-related Ministerial Meetings

  1. Mr. Taro Aso, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Singapore from December 7 (Thu). He also will visit Cebu, the Philippines from December 8 to attend the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) + 3 (Japan, China, and the R.O.K.) Ministerial Meeting (working lunch), the Japan-ASEAN Ministerial Meeting and the EAS (East Asia Summit) Foreign Ministerial Meeting (working lunch), and other events.
  2. In Singapore, Mr. Aso will have Japan-Singapore Foreign Ministerial Meeting on December 7 (Thu).
  3. In Cebu, Mr. Aso will attend the ASEAN + 3 Ministerial Meeting (working lunch) to be held on December 9 (Sat) to exchange views with his counterparts on ways to further promote ASEAN + 3 cooperation and the preparation for the ASEAN + 3 Summit Meeting.
    On the same day, Mr. Aso will exchange views with other foreign ministers, at the Japan-ASEAN Ministerial Meeting, on the review and further promotion of Japan-ASEAN cooperation, and on the preparation for the Japan-ASEAN Summit Meeting.
    On December 10 (Sun), Mr. Aso will attend the Japan-China-the R.O.K. trilateral commission to exchange views with his counterparts of China and the R.O.K. concerning the further promotion of cooperation among the three countries, the regional situation, and the preparation for a Japan-China-the R.O.K. summit meeting.
    On the same day, Mr. Aso will participate in the working lunch of the Foreign Ministers of the EAS (East Asia Summit) member countries to exchange views with his counterparts on the modalities of regional cooperation in the future and the preparation for an EAS summit meeting.
  4. During his stay in Cebu, Mr. Aso will also have bilateral talks with other foreign ministers who are attending the above meetings.
