JET Programme 20th Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony and Reception

  1. A ceremony celebrating the 20th anniversary of the JET Programme will be held on November 22 (Wed) in the Hotel Okura, Tokyo, under the auspices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MOFA), Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR).
  2. The ceremony, which will be held in the presence of H. I. H. the Crown Prince, will be attended by representatives from MOFA, MIC, MEXT, and CLAIR and officials from the JET Programme. The ceremony will include a keynote speech by H. E. Sir Graham Holbrook Fry, British Ambassador to Japan, Conferment of Minister's Commendations (MIC, MOFA, MEXT), conversation between H. I. H. the Crown Prince and participants of the JET Programme, and panel discussions.
  3. After the ceremony, a commemorative reception will take place at the same venue in the evening. A photo-panel exhibition "JET Programme: 20 Years in 20 Portraits" which displays former JETs' remarkable activities will also be held from 13:00 to 20:30 in another room of the hotel.
