Visit to Japan by Lieut.-Gen. Seretse Ian Khama, Vice President of the Republic of Botswana

- Lieut.-Gen. Seretse Ian Khama, Vice President of the Republic of Botswana, will pay a visit to Japan at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from June 6 (Mon) to 9 (Thu).
- During his stay in Japan, Vice President Khama will be received by T.I.H. Prince and Princess Akishino and will meet with Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobutaka Machimura and other senior officials to discuss a variety of issues including Japan-Botswana bilateral relations including economic cooperation and tourism promotion, as well as international issues such as African development and the U.N. Security Council reform.
- The government of Japan has been in a friendly relationship with Botswana for a long time and the Vice President's visit is expected to further deepen the two countries' relationship.
