H.E. Prof. Dr. Horst Köhler, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, to Visit Japan

  1. H.E. Prof. Dr. Horst Köhler, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, will visit Japan from April 3 (Sun) to 6 (Wed) at the invitation of the Government of Japan.

  2. During his stay in Japan, Dr. Köhler will attend the opening ceremony of "Germany in Japan 2005/2006" as honorary president on the German side.

  3. This will be the first visit to Japan of a President of Germany in three years since Dr. Johannes Rau, the then President, visited Japan in 2002.
