- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will hold meetings of Heads of Japanese Diplomatic Offices in the U.S. and Canada, meetings of Honorary Consuls-General of Japan in the U.S. and Canada, the Japan-U.S. Economic Review Forum, and the Japan-Canada Economic Review Forum as follows:
- Meeting of Heads of Japanese Diplomatic Offices in the U.S.: October 11 (Tue), 12 (Wed): Washington, D.C.
- Japan-U.S. Economic Review Forum: October 13 (Thu): Washington, D.C.
- Meeting of Honorary Consuls-General of Japan in the U.S.: October 14 (Fri): Washington, D.C.
- Meeting of Honorary Consuls-General of Japan in Canada: October 14 (Fri): Ottawa
- Meeting of Heads of Japanese Diplomatic Offices in Canada: October 15 (Sat): Ottawa
- Japan-Canada Economic Review Forum: October 17 (Mon): Vancouver
- The Meeting of Heads of Japanese Diplomatic Offices in the U.S. will be attended by Mr. Ryozo Kato, Japanese Ambassador to the U.S., consuls general and others from each consulate general in the U.S., and MOFA officials from the North American Affairs Bureau, the Economic Affairs Bureau, the Minister's Secretariat, the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, the Public Diplomacy Development and the Consular Affairs Bureau. The participants will exchange views on the present situation of the Japan-US relations, and domestic and foreign affairs of the U.S.
- The Meeting of Heads of Japanese Diplomatic Offices in Canada will be attended by Mr. Sadaaki Numata, Japanese Ambassador to Canada, consuls general from each diplomatic office in Canada, and MOFA officials from the North American Affairs Bureau, the Economic Affairs Bureau, the Minister's Secretariat, the Press Secretary/Director-General for Press and Public Relations, the Public Diplomacy Development and the Consular Affairs Bureau. The participants will discuss present Japan-Canada relations and how to strengthen the relations.
- At the meetings of Honorary Consuls General of Japan in the U.S. and Canada, the participants will have wide-ranging discussions about Japan-U.S. relations and Japan-Canada relations.
- At the Japan-U.S. Economic Review Forum and the Japan-Canada Economic Review Forum, which will be attended by Japanese companies operating in the U.S. and Canada, as well as the Japanese Government officials including the heads of Japanese diplomatic offices in the U.S. and Canada, the participants will exchange views on strengthening economic relations between Japan and the U.S. as well as Japan and Canada in addition to trade and economic issues surrounding Japan-U.S. and Japan-Canada.
