Mr. Kazunori Tanaka, Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs, to Visit Uganda, Malawi and Madagascar

  1. Mr. Kazunori Tanaka, Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs, will be visiting Uganda, Malawi and Madagascar from August 29 (Sun) to September 9 (Thu).

  2. The purpose of Mr. Tanaka's visit to these countries in Africa is a follow-up to the Third Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD III) hosted by Japan in September last year. Mr. Tanaka will hold bilateral talks with government officials of these countries, and is also expected to visit places where Japan's ODA projects are undertaken.

  3. In these talks, he will encourage each government to cooperate for and participate in the TICAD Asia-Africa Trade and Investment Conference scheduled to be held this autumn, and work to promote cooperative relations in the international arena such as the United Nations.
