Visit to Japan by Mr. Carlos Lage Davila, Vice-President of the Council of the State of the Republic of Cuba

- Mr. Carlos Lage Davila, Vice-President of the Council of the State of the Republic of Cuba, will visit Japan from 2 (Mon) to 5 (Thu) October as Guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Lage will be accompanied by Minister Ricardo Cabrisas and several other officials.
- During his stay in Japan, Mr. Lage will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori, hold talks with Foreign Minister Yohei Kono and meet with several members of the Diet, people from government-related organizations, business community and others.
- The Japan-Cuba relations have been developed constructively for recent years. The main purpose of Mr. Lage's visit is to exchange views extensively with relevant persons on the issues of interest to both countries, thus promoting the bilateral relations. Mr. Lage's visit is the first official visit to Japan by a vice-president of the Council of the State of Cuba.
