OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) -Japan Conference 2000: "Comprehensive Security in Central Asia - Sharing OSCE and Asian Experiences"

- The OSCE-Japan Conference 2000: "Comprehensive Security in Central Asia - Sharing OSCE and Asian Experiences" will be held on 11 (Mon) and 12 (Tue) December at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tokyo. The conference will be the first international conference co-sponsored by the Government of Japan and the OSCE.
- The attendees of the conference include on the Japanese side Mr. Yohei Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Dr. Tatsuo Arima, the Representative of the Government of Japan (co-chairperson of the conference); and on the OSCE side Mr. Ján Kubi
, Secretary-General of the OSCE (co-chairperson of the conference), people concerned from OSCE member countries, OSCE "partners for cooperation" countries such as Korea and Thailand, and international organizations.
- The conference will discuss comprehensive peace and security of the Central Asian OSCE member countries from various viewpoints, focusing on such fields as politics; democracy and human rights; as well as economy and environment.
