  1. Japan welcomes the peaceful holding of the parliamentary elections in Jordan on January 23 (same day local time) without any major confusion overall.
  2. Japan expects that Jordan will make a smooth transition toward political reform based on the results of this election, and that the country will continue to play an important role for peace and stability in the Middle East in the future.
  3. Japan continues to support the efforts for reform in Jordan and will continue to further strengthen the traditionally friendly bilateral relationship.
