On January 19, around 12:00 P.M. local time (8:00 P.M. Japan Time), Mr. Minoru Kiuchi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, visited the local office of JGC Corporation in Algeria and met with its staff.

During the meeting, Mr. Kiuchi exchanged information about the current state of the detention of nationals, and stated that the Government of Japan would continue to make its utmost efforts to secure the safety of the Japanese nationals whose well-being and whereabout are unconfirmed.
