Messages of Condolence for Damages by Tropical Storm Isaac in Haiti

From Friday, August 24 to Saturday, August 25, tropical storm Isaac hit the Republic of Haiti, resulting in many victims. On August 27, Mr. Yoshihiko Noda, the Prime Minister of Japan, and Mr. Koichiro Gemba, Minister for Foreign Affairs, sent messages of condolence to H.E. Mr. Michel Joseph Martelly, President of the Republic of Haiti, and H.E. Mr. Pierre-Richard Casimir, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs, respectively. The messages expressed their wishes for early recovery of the people affected by the disaster and early reconstruction of the affected area, as well as the intention of the Government of Japan to provide every possible support.
