- The Government of Japan welcomed the transition of power in Libya from the National Transitional Council to the democratically elected Constitutional Assembly on Wednesday, August 8, 2012.
- The Government of Japan expects that democratization processes, such as the appointment of Prime Minister and the creation of a Constitution, will proceed smoothly, and that full-fledged reconstruction and development of the country will start soon in Libya.
- The Government of Japan intends to continue its support for the construction of new Libya by utilizing Japan’s knowledge and experience.
