- Japan welcomes the holding of a Constitutional Assembly election in Libya on Saturday, July 7, for the first time since the collapse of the Gaddafi regime, in a largely peaceful manner without major confusion.
- Japan hopes that, based on the results of the election, the democratization process including the drafting of a new constitution, as well as a new nation-building will move ahead smoothly.
- Japan intends to continue to support these efforts by Libya.
