Japan strongly condemns the attempt made since March 21 by Malian soldiers to overthrow the Malian Government by force.
Japan urges all parties to make efforts to promptly restore the constitutional order and calm.
Japan welcomes the statements issued by the President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on March 21 and by the Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union (AU) on March 22, that do not tolerate the seizure of power by force.
