- “Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) White Paper 2011: Japan’s International Cooperation” was officially announced on Friday, March 9.
(1) The White Paper introduces important points to consider for the future of ODA, including the relationship between ODA and the bonds of friendship Japan shares with the world as reaffirmed after the Great East Japan Earthquake, the increasing important role of emerging countries, NGOs and private sector among others in undertaking development.
(2) The White Paper also includes performance and analysis of Japan’s ODA in CY 2010 and assistance implemented according to priority issues and regions, and also describes formulation and implementation of ODA policies.
(3) In addition, the White Paper shows efforts made by a wide variety of development actors including NGOs and private sector, as well as their stories in the field, as concrete examples of cooperation for developing countries. - For more information about the ODA White Paper, please visit the Ministry of Foreign Affair’s ODA website (http://www.mofa.go.jp/policy/oda/white/index.html).
