Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the Inauguration of a New Administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina

- Japan welcomes the inauguration of a new Council of Ministers in Bosnia and Herzegovina along with the election of former Minister for Finance of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mr. Vjekoslav Bevanda as Chairman of the Council of Ministers on Friday, February 10.
- Japan expects that the new Council of Ministers will exercise leadership for the solving of state budget problems toward the stabilization and development of the country, and that the country will work as a united group for the reforms needed in order for it to join the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
- Japan, based on the belief that unity and sovereignty in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the key to peace and stability in the Western Balkans, will continue to support the initiatives of the county, and will cooperate with the new administration in order to further develop bilateral relations.
