In the wake of the damage caused in some Caribbean countries from October 24 to October 27 by Hurricane Sandy, which has currently passed through the Caribbean and landed on the East Coast of the United States, on October 29 Mr. Yoshihiko Noda, Prime Minister, and Mr. Koichiro Gemba, Minister for Foreign Affairs, sent messages of condolence to the leaders and foreign ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Jamaica, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the Republic of Haiti expressing wishes for the quick recovery of everyone who met with harm and the rapid restoration of the areas affected by the disaster.
