- Japan welcomes the fact that the parliamentary election in Georgia was conducted calmly and peacefully on October 1 (Mon).
- Concerning this election, international election observation missions, including the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) / Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), released positive evaluations, stating that, in general, the election was conducted calmly and peacefully and it marked an important step in consolidating the conduct of democratic elections. Similar reports were received from the Embassy of Japan in Georgia, as well as from the Japanese member dispatched to the OSCE / ODIHR mission.
- Japan expects all Georgian political forces to work together with a view to promoting the stability and development of the country, based on the principles of democracy and constitutional order under the elected parliament.
